On Friday night 06/06/2016 Iska Dhaaf had an amazing album release show at The Crocodile in Seattle. The newly released album “The Wanting Creature” feature Iska Dhaaf expanding from their original live two person line up of Nathan Quiroga and Benjamin Verdoes to a four piece band including a new drummer and guitarist.

“The Wanting Creature” is a powerful record that shows the band confidently maturing within their musical approach and openly wrestling with the complex issues like human desire and loss. The show really captured the broad range of territory they have covered as a band which included performances of past material from “Even the Sun Will Burn”  interspersed with songs from this contemplative follow-up record. Seeing the duo expand to a four-piece with this live performance also brought the band some freedom to move around and really connect to the crowd which is always great to see.

Friday also saw the return of Champage Champane, a Seattle difficult-to-classify hip-hop group including Pearl Nelson and Sir Thomas Gray,  that always seem to teach a reserved Pacific Northwest crowd how to just relax and have a damn good time. Wampire also started off the show with some great melodic and rhythmically driven music with just enough Saxophone to let the music breathe, without going into “Careless Whisper” territory.
